CA State Assembly member Dave Jones'
With the arrival of the end of Ramadan, a number of public officials have shared their Eid greetings with the Muslim American community. Last week, we shared President Obama's message. This week, we present California State Assemblymember Dave Jones' letter:
You can read the letter from Assemblymember Jones here.
Assalamu Alaikum (Peace be with you) Friends: Eid Mubarak! I would like to wish you, your family and all Muslim Americans in our community a joyful Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast, filled with blessings and happiness.
Eid al-Fitr, one of the most significant celebrations in Islam, marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It is a time to celebrate with family and friends, to thank God for his blessings, to share food, and to reach out to the less fortunate. May God accept your prayers, fasting and worship during the month of Ramadan.
As the appearance of the new moon brings to a close this holy month, I wish all Muslims a blessed celebration of the Eid Al-Fitr and peace, health, and prosperity in the years ahead.
Eid mubarak!
Sincerely,
Dave Jones
