The Muslim Public Affairs Council today condemned radical imam Anwar Al-Awlaki's latest audio message urging Muslim Americans to turn against their government because of its actions against Muslims around the world, calling it "destructive and appalling."

MPAC Condemns Synagogue Shooting

October 29, 2009

The Muslim Public Affairs Council today condemned the shooting which took place this morning at a North Hollywood, CA synagogue and left two men hospitalized with injuries. A gunman entered the parking lot of Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic Orthodox synagogue this morning and shot and wounded two men in the leg. The motives behind the attack are unclear, according to police reports, but investigators haven't ruled out hate crime.

Afghan Law Violates Islamic Human Rights Norms

Late last week, Afghan President Hamid Karzai signed a family law bill that the Afghan parliament passed with an overwhelming majority.  The United Nations has stated that this law "legalizes rape within marriage and bans wives from stepping outside their homes without their husbands' permission."

MPAC CONDEMNS AL-ZAWAHRI'S RACIST COMMENTS ABOUT OBAMA

The Muslim Public Affairs Council today condemned the despicable racist comments released today by Al-Qaeda's second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahri about President-Elect Barack Obama on a video message. Al-Zarahwi's exploitation of religion and race in his derogatory remarks against Obama, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell is deplorable. In the video, Al-Zawahri is heard calling Obama a "house negro" who is "the direct opposite of honorable black Americans" like Malcolm X.
