Muslim American Homeland Security Congress Releases Community Safety Guidelines Against Possible Hate Crimes

Today, a coalition of Muslim American organizations released a set of safety tips for mosques and community centers around the country in order to preempt any possible backlash around the commemoration of the 10th anniversary 9/11.

The Muslim American Homeland Security Congress' Security Tips for Places of Worship, provides:

  • A set of principles to secure houses of worship
  • Specific details on how to identify suspicious activity that may indicate a planned violent assault
  • How to record incidents, as well as describe the possible criminal individuals and their vehicles 

“With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 upon us, it is important for our communities to remain secure from hateful attacks, even while continuing to stand united with our fellow citizens,” said MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati. “Using these security guidelines will help make our communities, and our nation safer.”
