This Friday, Haris Tarin, the Director of MPAC's DC Office, will speak about "Xenophobic Hate Crimes" at the Applied Research Center’s "Facing Race" conference in Baltimore.
Over the past decade, hate crimes have been on the rise, affecting people of color, and gay and lesbian communities and immigrants. What explains this rise in hate violence? What are the various ways in which community members are impacted by this climate? And, what solutions need to be put into place?
