Screenwriter's Workshop for Film & Television

MPAC's Hollywood Bureau and Film Independent have collaborated to provide a series of workshops with Hollywood industry professionals. This four-week screenwriting workshop series is being taught by Emmy Award winner Ed Driscoll & Oscar nominee T.S. Cook.

This hands-on workshop will take place every Saturday 9am-12 pm over four Saturdays. 

Ed Driscoll has written for several hit shows such as “The Drew Carey Show,” the Academy Awards, and “Dennis Miller Live," which he won an Emmy for. He is currently writing for “Melissa & Joey” airing on the ABC Family. 

T.S. Cook is best known for writing the Oscar-nominated movie “The China Syndrome,” starring Jane Fonda and Michael Douglas. He has written drama for both television and film with credits including “Airwolf” and several made-for-TV movies. 

The workshop is being offered in partnership with Film Independent, and co-sponsored by Disney/ABC, AFTRA, USC Center for Religion & Civic Culture, the Arab Film Festival, and the Levantine Cultural Center.

February 5 - "Drama Writing for Television" with T.S. Cook

February 12 - "Drama Writing for Film" with T.S. Cook

February 19 - "Comedy Writing for Film" with Ed Driscoll.
This session will be followed by "The Business Side of Writing," a discussion with Tim McNeal, Vice President of Talent Development and Diversity at Disney/ABC; Zac Simmons, Kaplan Stahler; and Ahmos Hassan, Chariot Management
