MPAC Cosponsors Screening
of 'My So-Called Enemy'
February 12, 2012

Join MPAC and NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change for a screening of the documentary "My So-Called Enemy" on Sunday, Feb. 12, at the IMAN Cultural Center. The screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Lisa Gossels about dialogue in the midst of conflict.
Some have lost friends and family members, but all bear the psychological scars of living in a war zone. In July 2002, 22 Palestinian and Israeli teenage girls traveled to the United States to participate in a women’s leadership program called Building Bridges for Peace. “My So-Called Enemy” is the story of six of the girls and how they come to know their “enemies” as human beings and how that experience meets with the realities of their lives at home in the Middle East during the next seven years.
As the conflict continues to escalate it is important for us to continue to have a conversation about who we can get along and bring peace to the situation.
