MPAC Civic Outreach Coor. Leads Workshop on Communicating with Legislators

February 9, 2012

As part of the Islamic Institute of Orange County's six-workshop series of civic engagement, Saadia Khan, MPAC's Civic Outreach Coordinator, will be hosting a workshop on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. on how to communicate with your legislators.

Khan will be presenting MPAC's unique "I Am Change" civic leadership program, which was designed to empower Muslim Americans all around the country to stand up and advocate for the issues we all care about, and strengthen your ability to do it effectively.

Khan will give community members the tools to:

  • Promote civic engagement from an Islamic perspective with members of your community
  • Engage in local, state and federal government works and advocating at each level
  • Talk about the issues you care about with public officials

MPAC is committed to active citizenship and about embracing each of our rights as Muslim Americans to work with decision makers in our local communities, in our state legislatures and in Congress to shape better policies.

The program will be at the Islamic Institute of Orange County at 1220 N State College Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92806. For more information, please call (714) 533.6271

Please get in touch with us today to schedule an "I Am Change" workshop in your community by calling (323) 258-6722 or emailing us at iamchange@mpac.org.
