Lekovic to Speak at MSA West Conference This Weekend

January 18, 2014

Since its founding 16 years ago, MSA West has held an annual conference, which has become a staple event for more than 1,000 students from dozens of university Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) from all over the west coast.

This weekend, MPAC's Director of Policy and Programming, Edina Lekovic, will join a prominent lineup of speakers, activists and professionals leading a variety of sessions and workshops at the annual MSA West conference at University of California, Davis.

She will participate in two sessions on "The Spiritual Spring" and "Cultivating Your Leadership Experience."

Other speakers include Imam Sayed Moustafa Al-Qazwini, Maryam Amirebrahimi, Imam Tahir Anwar, Dr. Hatem Bazian, Zahra Billoo Esq., Sheikh Alaeddin El-Bakri, Sheikh Yasir Fazaga, and Imam Mustafa Umar.

In the words of the organizers, the intent of the conference is to empower students during "a powerful time in our lives and a crucial moment of history. It is now that we have the most potential to restructure within ourselves an Islamic state of mind that will shape the way we rise together to build a future worthy of the legacies we wish to leave behind."
