Dr. Hathout to Be Honored at SCIC's 60th Anniversary Gala

On Sunday, Nov. 10, the South Coast Interfaith Council (SCIC) will honor Dr. Maher Hathout, MPAC's Senior Adviser, at its 60th Anniversary Gala. 

In addition to Dr. Hathout, the Rev. Dr. Peggy Price, the Minister Emeritus of the Seal Beach Center for Spiritual Living; Nirinjan Khalsa, the Executive Director of the California Sikh Council; and Rabbi David S.Lieb, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Beth El, San Pedro, who will be honored posthumously. 

The special evening will be keynoted by actor Rainn Wilson, who is best known for playing "Dwight" on NBC's Emmy-winning TV show, "The Office."

Wilson is a devout practitioner of the Baha’i faith and will be speaking on the unifying message of Baha’u’llah.

SCIC, founded in 1953, is an association of nearly 200 member faith communities and related programs in the South Bay-Harbor-Long Beach area of Los Angeles and West Orange counties, encompassing some 35 cities and approximately 1.8 million people.

SCIC's mission is to promote mutual understanding, respect, appreciation and cooperation among people of faith in the Greater South Bay-Harbor-Long Beach-West Orange County area through extending hospitality, offering educational opportunities, providing moral leadership, sharing in service and working for justice.
