Haroon Moghul, a Leader for Tomorrow & Thinker on the Arab Spring

Chosen as one of 500 Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow, Haroon Moghul is an Associate Editor at Religion Dispatches, a Fellow at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding and a Senior Editor for The Islamic Monthly Magazine. MPAC is honored that Moghul will participate in a roundtable discussion on "Islamic Movements: Help or Hindrance?" at its upcoming convention on Dec. 17th. 

He also is the Executive Director of the Maydan institute, which is devoted to increasing Muslims' access to corporate, media and nonprofit careers.  

He is also the author of “The Order of Light," and has been published in The Huffington Post, Religious Dispatches and Islamica on religious identity, radicalism, Islamic history and contemporary politics in the Muslim world.  

Moghul has a master's degree from Columbia University in Middle East, South Asian and African Studies. Currently, he is completing his Ph.D. from Columbia University focusing on Islamic political thought in colonial India through the political philosophy of Allama Iqbal.
