Hoda Elshishtawy

Legislative and Policy Analyst

Hoda Elshishtawy joined MPAC in June 2011 as the Legislative and Policy Analyst.

Originally from Los Angeles, CA she moved to Washington, DC to complete her undergraduate and graduate studies. She received her B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University with a concentration on international affairs and the Middle East and completed her master’s degree in Ethics, Peace and Global Affairs focusing on Islam, ethics and conflict resolution from American University’s School of International Service. During her graduate studies, Hoda was involved with dialogue development groups, interfaith activities and various conflict resolution programs. She served as the Muslim ambassador to public schools in an interfaith initiative to highlight the commonalities of the Abrahamic faiths in a series called World Religions Day.

Hoda’s experience includes completing an internship with Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) which solidified her passion for politics and an internship in the Los Angeles MPAC office where she got her first taste of the exciting world of non-profits, advocacy and Islam.
