Lekovic Re-elected to Islamic Shura Council of Southern California

Over the weekend, the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California held its annual elections for its board of directors (majlis). MPAC's Director of Policy and Programming Edina Lekovic was re-elected to serve a second term on the board, alongside Imam Taha Hassane from the Islamic Center of San Diego and Imam Jihad Saafir of Masjid Ibaadullah.
The Islamic Shura Council is an umbrella organization of mosques & Muslim organizations serving the Muslims of Southern California. Since 1995, the Council continues to foster the spirit and culture of "working together" at all levels in one of the most diverse and largest Muslim populations in the country. The Shura Council's membership covers all four counties of Southern California in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside & San Bernardino.
Its mission is to assist Muslim organizations in serving the Muslim community and the society-at-large. It represents the consensus of its members. It coordinates community activities, enables effective communications, advocates on behalf of its member organizations, and fosters leadership development.
